"I have worked in the office at the Astra site in Immingham since October 2005. There are many aspects to my job, including scheduling trains, wages, and monitoring and updating records. As they say, variety is the spice of life, and you never know what the day will bring at Hargreaves in Immingham, and so often it does. I enjoy working with my fellow employees and know if I need any advice or support regarding work, there is always someone who can help me throughout the company. We work together as a team to achieve the aims of the business."
Sam Stewart, Administrator, Hargreaves Mineral Services, Immingham

“When I joined Hargreaves in 2003, I was taken on as a site foreman. Since then I was asked to take on responsibility for the Health and Safety on the site at Immingham, and then for the whole Industrial division. Recently, I have been promoted to Health and Safety Officer. The Company has supported my professional studies, and I have now obtained my NEBOSSH certificate.”
Phil Upcraft, Health & Safety Officer, Norec Limited

"I joined the company on the 6th May 1985 as an Administration Officer for what was then British Coal, working from Manton Colliery, Worksop. The site closed in February 1994, so I moved to Maltby Colliery as the Training Officer. Since then there have been a few acquisitions, culminating with Hargreaves acquiring the Maltby Colliery business in February 2007.
"It is my job to ensure that all employees on site, including visiting contractors, are all suitably qualified and authorised for the job they are going to do, and that accurate records are maintained on-site. I monitor all training that is completed on-site and make sure it is carried out by suitably qualified people."
Dennis Bagshaw, Training Officer, Maltby Colliery Ltd

"I have worked at the Esh Winning head office since November 2004. I began as a temporary receptionist and, since then, I have worked as an administrator in the company’s minerals division, as an administrator in our HR department, and now my role is as secretary to the Company Secretary and Legal Department.
People often ask me if I enjoy coming to work. I must do: I originally came for just four days – and I’m still here! There’s no such thing as a typical day; that’s part of the attraction because my workload is always changing. It also helps because I work with a great group of people who are always there when you need them for help and advice.
Andrea Taylor, Secretary to Company Secretary and Legal Department

I have been employed by Imperial Tankers Ltd as an LGV driver since 2000 and during my time here I have been employed on a number of contracts / products on both long distance and local deliveries. The work can be challenging, rewarding and enjoyable. All my colleagues and managers work together to ensure that the job is safe and done correctly.
Having previously been a Union Branch Secretary and Safety Representative I can confirm that the relationship between management and employees is close and the concerns of staff are always considered. I look forward to a long and happy career with the Company.
