Operation and Maintenance Contracts
Norec’s main business is the provision of managed operation and maintenance contracts for materials handling plant at power stations and port facilities. Materials handled include fuel supplied to power stations (coal, heavy fuel oil, biomass and WDF (waste derived fuel)) as well as the by-products of the generation process such as PFA (pulverised fuel ash) and FBA (furnace bottom ash).

Facilities Management
Norec has secured a reputation with our customers for delivering reliability, safety and sound business management at all times. Building on this success we have embarked on a programme of growth to transfer our skills to related areas within the same industries.
We now provide catering, cleaning, buildings and grounds maintenance, management of specialist services, reception / front of house and project management services.

We are also able to provide and manage all aspects site security and are proud to say that we are an SIA Approved Contractor. We currently provide 30 security staff at Eggborough Power Station, managing the gatehouse, patrol and CCTV services.
Renewable Energy
Norec is responsible for the receipt, handling, storage and loading of biomass fuel at Ferrybridge Power Station twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. We supply the machines and drivers to handle the material and load into the direct injection hoppers which mix the biomass with coal to be burned as part of the generation process.
