Hargreaves Coal Combustion Products Limited (HCCP) was formed in May 2003 as a joint venture company.
HCCP offer ash management, sales and marketing services to the coal-fired power generation industry.
Although, HCCP’s business is concentrated primarily in the UK, extensive work has taken place overseas in developing markets for coal ash products in countries such as Indonesia, India, Russia, Poland, Finland, Ukraine and Japan.
At the present time HCCP has ash sales agency and management arrangements in place at five UK coal-fired power stations, and is well placed to service all of the UK with product, as well as being involved in marketing Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA) on an ad-hoc basis for a number of other power stations. This includes Drax Power Station which, as the largest coal-fired power station in the UK (and Europe), produces around 1.5 million tonnes of ash each year.
To date HCCP have sold over 5.0 million tonnes of coal ash in the UK. As well as offering services for the sale and marketing of coal ash, HCCP is able to offer services associated with the handling and management of ash whether this is to sale, temporary stockpile or permanent disposal. In so doing, HCCP’s objectives are to ensure that all ash handling and management takes place by methods that are both cost effective and environmentally friendly.
