Hargreaves Services plc subsidiary Imperial Tankers Ltd and Stiller Tankers Ltd today announced a merger of assets and trading, with effect from 3rd October 2009.
This merger will bring together not just the assets of each business; it will also combine the experience and professional expertise of the Imperial Tankers and Stiller teams.
Speaking about the deal, Hargreaves Transport Services Managing Director Mark Forrest said: “Imperial Tankers Ltd was established in 1989, and became part of the Hargreaves group of companies in 2007. It is now one of the UK’s leading road tanker hauliers. Like Imperial, the Stiller Group has established a reputation for superior levels of service, quality and, above all, safety of operations.”
Martin Smith, Imperial Tankers Managing Director added: “This merger is very good news for existing customers of both businesses; we anticipate being able to offer our combined customer base even higher standards of service and strategic support than they already enjoy.
“We intend to transfer our expanded operations to the current Stiller Tanker site at Boeing Way, Stockton-on-Tees. While this move will test our combined organisational skills, we can assure all customers that they will experience a smooth transition, with no disruption in service levels, no compromise on quality, and no detrimental effect on communications”.
Paul Stiller, Managing Director, Stiller Tankers Limited, added: “Our intention has always been to provide customers with the highest possible level of support and service – an ethos we share with Imperial Tankers Limited and which I have every confidence customers will continue to receive from the new business entity.
"Imperial Tankers Limited will gain all the benefits of the experience and commitment of the Stiller team which, when amalgamated into their existing operations, should provide a tour-de-force in the tanker logistics market.
“Both parties are determined to implement a transition which will ensure the absorption of the Stiller Tankers Limited business into Imperial Tankers Limited will be as seamless as possible.”
